My baby is one. And yes, I know I have been very consistent posting her monthly photos… (#secondchildproblems)
This past year sure flew by. Ellis is such an easy going and sweet little girl. Although she didn’t like to sleep in the beginning, by the time she hit the 8 month mark she was sleeping like a champ through the night and taking a long afternoon nap at the same time as big sister. She loves to play peek-a-boo and crawl around the house as fast as she can. Walking isn’t really on her priority list right now. She occasionally says mamama and dadada, but is getting very good at pointing and grunting when she wants something. This petite girl can eat. I joke about her eating everything, but really she eats everything. There is very little she doesn’t like. Recently I have discovered she LOVES steak and beets. She is my little foodie in training (although big sister loves almost everything also). She has 5 teeth with a 6th just about to pop through. Ellis has just started enjoying the swing at the park, she particularly likes the one with the adult swing also.
We celebrated the birthday girl with a morning donut party at our local park. We surprisingly had beautiful weather for a late May Florida party and the birthday girl enjoyed her first (and second, third, etc) donut along with a funfetti donut shaped cake.
We are looking forward to her next year of growth, because the first year is fun, but the second year is amazing. They learn so much. I remember trying to keep track of all of Hadley’s words around 18 months and I had to give up because she was talking so much. There were very few words she didn’t know. I think this next year will bring more interactive play between the two of them.
