A few years ago a Sprouts opened in Atlanta, knowing I’m a huge foodie my mom’s friend was telling me all about it and how much she loved it. I never got a chance to go, but just this Wednesday a new grocery store opened in the area. Can you take a guess at what it was? The 277th store for Sprouts Farmers Market opened in Palm Harbor bringing healthy living for less to north Pinellas county.
I was lucky to get a sneak peek tour before the grand opening and learn all the ins and outs of our new grocer. The first thing I noticed upon arriving was the produce was not in the front of the store like a typical grocery store. It was actually in the back center, it was easy to see because there are no high shelves anywhere in sight. Before starting the tour I perused the store to check out prices and selection. I have to say the prices looked great and the selection of fresh fruits and vegetables can’t be beat. Once our tour started I learned their produce is typically about 20% cheaper than competitors! Heck yes! You know I love to save money.
You would expect a large selection of produce, because their name is Sprouts FARMERS MARKET, but that’s not all they carry. They have everything you could need for meal time and really cater to special diets. Throughout the store orange tags designate gluten free items. They also have tons of vegan, dairy free, and pretty much anything you can imagine. The butchers in house are happy to custom cut pork chops or steak for you and the sausage is made fresh right in the store.
Sprouts has a large bulk area and even carries bulk spices, for those times you don’t need an entire jar of whole nutmeg.
I can’t wait to stop back in for some real grocery shopping. Plus I learned a little tip about the best day to shop. Wednesdays their ads overlap, so both the previous week’s ad and the current week ad are running, which means more items on sale throughout the store. This new store opened right down the street from my oldest daughters school. So you can take a guess where this mom will be after drop off on Wednesdays.
Tell me have you been to Sprouts? I’m so excited by all the gluten free options. What should I try first?
